EBS Innovation Challenge

Hello and welcome to the first EBS Innovation Challenge!

EBS (Enterprise Business Solutions) is looking for innovative ideas that will propel us as a business into the stratosphere. Your practical idea or thoughtful solution doesn't need to be confined to current MultiChoice structures but can stand outside those boundaries as long as its practical, sensible and adds value.

  1. DVM (Deliver Value for Money) - Silent Running — Implement a seamless Customer Experience through a simplified technology landscape that is tightly integrated inside and loosely coupled outside with a high availability status through;
    • Automation and Simplification
    • Improved Change Management
  2. AV (Value added Solutions) - Synthesis Business-IT Relationship — Become a trusted business partner, that aligns to the business demand through IT supply (deliver change on time/budget) towards achieving the Customer First theme;
    • Business "drives" and IT "enables"
    • Contribute to the business strategy through IT innovation
  3. AV (Value added Solutions) - Boundary-less Organisation — Implement an IT operating model that fosters;
    • Empowerment and accountability within employees
    • Use of the latest technology and tools to facilitate the breaking down of traditional barriers (DevOps)
    • Employees, will be empowered to achieve results in a way that’s appropriate for the project at hand
  4. AV (Value added Solutions) & RDC (Remove duplication and complexity) - Go Cloud — Build an environment for the Enterprise users to get applications to market quickly without worrying about underlying infrastructure costs or maintenance.
    • Improved TTM
    • Reduction in Operational Cost
    • Improve Process Efficiency
  5. RDC - Remove Duplication & Complexity — Build solutions globally applicable but locally customisable as per the laws of the land which will drive (Global Blueprints with local implementation)
    • Reusability of enterprise resources
    • Simplification of Integration and Implementation
    • Shadow IT

The prize money

First place
1st Place: R25 000
Second place
2nd Place: R15 000
Third place
3rd Place: R5 000
This series of idea challenges is open to EBS permanant staff and contractors only.

Judging the submissions

The following criteria will be used to filter the submitted ideas:
  • Clarity – Is the idea/solution clearly stated, is it practical?
  • Relevance – Does the idea/solution address the business problem?
  • Feasibility – Is the idea/solution implementable?
  • Innovative – The idea is fresh and has great impact!
